Antes que nada… foto nueva en Afterlight. Fotos nuevas casi todos los días.

Mis dos lectores saben que detesto Twilight y toda la “cultura” que rodea a ese block de hojas con letras. Por ahi tengo un post en donde reviento en contra del libro… irónicamente, ese es mi post más popular; hordas de fans llegaron a decirme que estaba todo mal, que no entendía el libro, que Bella era… Bella, que Jacob era el papi, etc, etc.
Me topé con este correo que mandó una fanS(sic) a Universal Pictures con motivo del estreno del remake de The Wolfman (la original es de 1941 para aquellos que les guste la estadística).
Copio y pego:

This movie was a complete waste and I feel that it offends ALL Twilight Fans around the world, that including myself. For one, it was a COMPLETE remaking of the Wolf Pack from the Twilight Saga: New Moon. It gives the werewolves a bad name and makes them look like some deformed mutation of a rabid dog. I actually started to like werewolves after seeing Jacob Black and all his awesomeness on the big screen at the movies. That was until I saw your crappy remake of what you call to be a “were wolf”. I don’t see how you live with yourself for making it the way you did. If I made this movie, I would be ashamed to even admit that I owned it.

How can a werewolf be killed with a silver bullet? Better yet, have you saw the transformation of the man that is “supposed” to be the wolf? He sits in some chair and his entire body turns in to some mutated freak. If you would watch the transformation of Jacob Black, (Taylor Lautner) he doesn’t come close to looking as fake, cheap and or mutated as the wolf man.”

Creo que la fanS(sic) tiene un crush secreto con el tal Taylor y no se ha dado cuenta.

En fin.
Por acá un excelente post acerca de vampiros (el Dracula original también fue una producción original de Universal Pictures en el año de 1931) Vampiros! Vampiros!

Jajajaja, qué pedazo de excremento es ese? Así o más arrogante?

Odio el libro. No lo he leído. Jamás lo haré. Me basta el escuchar cosas de la trama para saber que es un rip-off de Buffy, Dracula y de High School Musical.
Twilight es lo que en su ocasión fue Juventud en Extasis (que tampoco leí y jamás lo haré): un libro flatulento que hipnotizaba a las masas. Del libro de Sánchez recuerdo frases como: “Tor, ¿no lo has leído? ¡¡¡estás bien pendejo!!! ¡¡¡Este libro te cambiará la vida!!!” Same shitty phrases as Twilight.
En momentos en que me encuentro leyendo The Road de Cormac McCarthy, y que cada hoja que devoro me hace reflexionar acerca de mi propia humanidad, saber que la mayoría de la gente está leyendo libros de “vampiros vegetarianos” me pone intolerante.

Mejor dicho no se puede:

There is no danger inherent in Bella and Edward’s relationship other than ‘Will Edward take me to the prom?’ There is no negative consequence to being a vampire; in fact, being a vampire is so amazing that Bella can’t wait to be one. By the end of Bella’s story, the awesomeness of vampires is something that not only Bella, but every other person in the freaking world, apparently, has accepted as fact – even their sworn werewolf enemies (who are also hopelessly in love with Bella, by the way).

Me compré en la feria del libro el paperback de la mencionada novela gráfica. En la portada dice: “A work of ruthless psychological realism, it’s a landmark in the graphic novel medium. It would be a masterpiece in any.” –TIME, TIME MAGAZINE’s 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present.
High expectations. Al reverso vienen reviews de entertainment weekly, rolling stone entre otros; todos alabando a Alan Moore y a sus enmascarados.

¡Oh Discordia! ¡Qué mugrero! Desde que empieza con sus pretenciones al estilo de Sherlok Holmes, hasta que termina con su anticlimático final… es un desperdicio de tinta. Se salvan sólo la secuencia de Rorschach en la carcel. No me acerqué a ningún personaje. El único que me llamó la atención fue el vendedor de periódicos y revistas en Nueva York.

Pretenciosa y no cumple con las expectativas generadas desde antes de empezar a leerla.
Y pensar que le puse una pausa a “Las Batallas en el Desierto” para leer aquel mugrero.

Las mejores novelas gráficas siguen siendo (y por siempre serán): Batman: The Dark Knight Returns; y Batman: Arkham Asylum.
